Information
dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Hachi consisting of iron plates with raised edge and brown-lacquered. The tehen kanamono made of a single gilt piece. The front plates covered with a copper-coloured foil decorated with engraved clouds and embellished with three raised bands ending in a cusp, with a gilt frame engraved with leaves on the lower margin. On the reverse, a plate decorated en suite and provided with Kasa jirushi no kan. Mabizashi lined in brown leather. The maedate complete with gilt metal antennas but the central element is missing. The wide fukigaeshi also lined in brown leather and decorated with brass Mon (one with small repair, almost invisible). Large, lacquered, four-plate shikoro with well-preserved finish. Interior with cloth cap. Some signs of use and time. Complete with cord en suite with shikoro lacing. height 25 cm.
