Information

dating: Third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: USA, Octagonal,rifled, 44 cal barrel, with brass cusped sight. Smooth six-shot cylinder. Working mechanism, but the cylinder does not rotate automatically (needs revision)), the barrel in good condition inside, with well defined rifling. Frame with dorsal marking 'ROGERS & SPENCER / UTICA N.Y.' 'B' marks on the barrel, frame, grips and other parts. Coeval serial number '26xx' on all parts. Remains of antique bluing (about 35%). Wooden grips, the left one with clearly visible government inspection mark (RPB). Produced in about 5800 copies, 5000 of which were under government contract, see 'Flayderman's Guide' 9th edition, p. 368 (7A-085). length 34 cm.
