Information

dating: last quarter of the 17th Century provenance: Teschen, Rifled, octagonal, 16 mm cal. barrel, provided with brass foresight, graduated iron rear sight featuring a brass-inlaid mark with the letters 'IBS' and leaves, thin lines at the breech. Slightly rounded lock, decorated with engraved floral motifs in bas relief and with a grotesque face on the plate and another face sculpted on the back of the batterie; fine wooden stock carved with racemes (a restoration at the base) surrounding several scenes and figures including a bagpiper playing, various animals, hounds chasing a prey, a man just dismounted from a horse who prays in front of a tree with walking and mounted hunters n the cheekpiece; the patchbox decorated with two scenes engraved on bone depicting fortified towns, among them an inlaid deer; the mouthpiece of the stock entirely made of engraved bone; several parts with small mother-of-pearl-inlaid elements; iron mounts, long trigger guard, trigger with set trigger; slightly engraved iron butt plate, ramrod pipes with rings; horn-tipped wooden ramrod (probably restored) engraved en suite. length 106 cm.
