dating: Late 18th - Early 19th Century provenance: Turkey, Body of elliptical section with typically curved shape tapering toward the fuse, completely covered with silver foil. Finely worked with filigree frames, spirals and buds at the front side enriched with several cabochon coral drops. In the center three rosettes with green-enameled petals and with a central coral cabochon held by filigree spirals. The lid on the wider side decorated en suite with corals and a large central rosette with enameled petals. The rear side also covered with silver foil, engraved with floral motifs. On the back, typical iron band closure system hinged in the center and with spring, this one embellished with gold inlays, provided in the center with a pierced ornament surmounted by coral buds and with two brass lugs on a hinged base. Some signs of time and chips to the enamels. High quality model with the typical manufacture of the city of Trebizond in Turkey. length 16 cm.
