dating: 17th Century provenance: Sweden, Medium-width, double-edged blade strongly ribbed at the center, short tang. Iron hilt, elegant, carved knuckle guard with butt-plate richly pierced with stars and circles, flat quillons, curved with an 'S' and with enlarged and curled ends. Flat loop-guard decorated en suite with the loop-guard of the knuckle-guard, flat heart-shaped pommel, the thumb ring at the back provided with a guard-valve at the base. Wooden grip covered with beautiful iron wire binding and Moor's heads. Rare. length 101 cm.
