Information

dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Smoothbore, octagonal, 13, 4 mm cal. barrel, with rear sight and foresight, engraved and decorated with silver and copper inlaid depicting bird insects. A breech repair on the right side. Iron pan with brass sliding pan cover. Brass lock with working mechanism. Elegant and fine wooden full stock with brass mounts, wooden ramrod. On the left side inscription in ideograms imprinted on the wood. Ideograms also on the underside of the pan. Typical opening to hold the match. Period: late Edo period, first half of the 19th century. length 116,5 cm.
