dating: 1770/80 provenance: London, Round, smoothbore, turn-off, 11 mm cal. barrels, decorated with rings and engraved at the girdle with moulded muzzle; boxlock frames signed 'STANTON' and LONDON 'among floral motifs, marks of the London test bench. Wooden butt with engraved iron mounts. In an adapted antique wooden box, covered with green cloth and labeled by Samuel Nock .Complete with various tools including a double flask and key. Thomas Staton documented in London, 24 Crooked Lane in 1777 (Der Neue Stöckel Vol. II, p. 1214). length 20.5 cm.
