dating: early 20th Century provenance: China, Majestically carved, solid and hard wood, lid with round shield at the center, featuring a short Chinese inscription surrounded by dragons and an in-the-round turtle among racemes, the oblique edge is worked with birds and floral motifs in bas-relief. Inside the lid there is space for three revolvers among birds, a tiger and a gazelle among floral motifs in bas-relief. The inner part of the case is carved en suite, the border is decorated with birds and floral motifs in bas-relief with stamps at the center of the long sides. Small missing parts. Rare. dimensions 48.5 x 8 x 26 cm.
