Caucaso
length 63 cm.
Wide and long double-edged blade with deep asymmetrical groove, small areas with rust damage. The right side gold-inlaid with cartouches featuring inscriptions in Arabic with a Persian distich: 'za hush-i aflatun damash tiztar za abru-yi dildar khunriztar' ("Its tip is sharper than Platoís wit, More bloodthirsty than the belovedís eyebrow.í'), stylized swan's heads and floral motifs. Typically-shaped handle with cow-horn cheeks featuring iron rivets and embossed silver rosettes with geometric motifs. Beautiful wooden scabbard covered with leather on the front side and decorated in relief with garlands and floral motifs. The back with red-velvet covering (partially lined) and decorated with crossed, fabric bands and with several silver rivets. Wide iron band with gold decorations.
