Georgia
length 68.1 cm.
Wide and long, double-edged blade with engraved double groove, with gold the inscription on a dark background 'IN AKHALTSIKHE ANNO 1861MAESTRO BURUNSUZOV' at the base, on the front side. The other side with engravings over the same decorations as the grooves. Impressive, brown, buffalo-horn handle with beautiful silver and niello mounts depicting floral motifs, the base worked in waves, silver mark "84" and Cyrillic letter "W" behind. Wooden scabbard covered with brown velvet (partially lined) with extraordinary niello silver mounts, a Persian lion above, a Russian imperial eagle at the center and a deer below, all among floral decorations in bas relief. Marked 'City Poti', 'Year 1898', 'Zolot' and 'G.D.A.' at the back, at the upper part. A barely legible inscription (in Georgian?) underneath. The open-work with leather covering.
