Information

OJ Simpson Autographed Buffalo Bills Mini Helmet in JSA Certified Display Case.
OJ Simpson, born Orenthal James Simpson on January 2, 1947, was one of the most dominant running backs in National Football League (NFL) history. He spent most of his career with the Buffalo Bills, where he set numerous records and led the team to new levels of success.
Simpson was selected by the Bills with the first overall pick in the 1969 NFL Draft. Simpson's impact was immediate: he became a starter in his first season and led the league in rushing yards four times. In 1973, he set an NFL record with 2,003 rushing yards in a single season, a mark that stood for 14 years. Simpson was also selected to the Pro Bowl five times and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985.
In addition to his individual abilities, Simpson was also a leader on the field and a beloved teammate. He helped the Bills to four consecutive division titles from 1972 to 1975, but the team lost the AFC Championship each time.
Simpson's career and public image took a nosedive in 1994, when he was charged with the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. The ensuing trial was one of the most widely watched media events in American history. Simpson was acquitted of murder, but was later convicted of burglary and kidnapping in a civil case brought by the victims' families. He died on April 10, 2024, from prostate cancer.
