Currently considered the best centre-forward in the world, he grew up in the youth sector of Bryne, where he made his professional debut, before moving to Molde in 2017, where he played for two seasons. In 2019 he was bought by Salzburg, with whom he won an Austrian championship (2018-2019) and an Austrian Cup (2018-2019). In 2020 he moved to Borussia Dortmund, where he won a German Cup (2020-2021). Two years later he moved to Manchester City, a jersey with which he shattered several records in English football.
On 7 August 2022 he made his Premier League debut, where he scored two goals to win the match at West Ham United's home (0–2). On 27 August, he scored his first hat-trick on English soil, contributing to the 4–2 final victory over Crystal Palace. He repeated his feat on 31 August, scoring three of the six goals with which the Citizens beat Nottingham Forest.
