Thibaut Courtois (born 11 May 1992) is a Belgian footballer, goalkeeper for Real Madrid and the Belgian national team. Considered one of the strongest goalkeepers of his generation, he made his debut with Genk, with whom he won a Belgian championship and a Belgian Cup. Purchased in 2011 by Chelsea, he was immediately sent on loan for three seasons to Atletico Madrid, where he won a Spanish championship, a Copa del Rey and a UEFA Europa League. Returning to England, he won two English championships, an FA Cup and an English League Cup with the London team. In 2018 he was purchased outright by Real Madrid, winning with the capital team two Spanish championships, a Copa del Rey, two Spanish Super Cups, a UEFA Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup and a Club World Cup. With the Belgian national team, he participated in three World Cups (Brazil 2014, Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022) and two European Championships (France 2016 and Europe 2020).
