Ruud Gullit (Amsterdam, 1 September 1962), is a former Dutch footballer, who played as a midfielder or attacker, European champion with the Dutch national team in 1988. Considered as one of the best offensive midfielders in the history of football, he won the Ballon gold in 1987. In Milan and in the Oranje national team he formed a very strong midfield pairing with Frank Rijkaard; in particular in the red and black jersey the two constituted, together with the center forward Marco van Basten, the Dutch trio that led the club to a long series of international victories between the 80s and 90s of the twentieth century. Purchased by Milan in 1987, with the team coached by Arrigo Sacchi he won two consecutive European Cups (1988-1989 and 1989-1990), two Intercontinental Cups (1989 and 1990), two UEFA Super Cups (1989 and 1990) and one Super Cup Italian (1988), therefore in the new course of Fabio Capello, who landed on the Rossoneri bench in 1991-1992, he will win the first two scudetti with the Rossoneri under the management of the Friulian coach (1991-1992 and 1992-1993) as well as an Italian Super Cup ( 1992).
