Riccardo Montolivo (Milan, 18 January 1985) is an Italian footballer, who plays a midfielder. Raised in Atalanta's youth team, he made his first team debut in the 2003-2004 season. After the relegation of the Bergamo team to Serie B, he was purchased by Fiorentina. With the purple shirt he played over 200 matches, some of these as captain, reaching a UEFA Cup semi-final and some Champions League qualifiers. In 2012 he moved to Milan, making a total of 158 appearances, wearing the captain's armband of the Rossoneri club from 2013 to 2017, where he won the 2016 Italian Super Cup, also reaching two Italian Cup finals. After having worn the blue shirt in many youth national teams, including the Under-21 and the Olympic national team, he made his debut in the senior national team on 17 October 2007, in a friendly match against South Africa. With the Italian national team he took part in the 2009 Confederations Cup, the 2010 World Cup, the 2012 European Championship becoming a finalist and the 2013 Confederations Cup as third place.
