Literature

Mauro Tassotti (Rome, 19 January 1960) is an Italian footballer, a defender who played for Milan for 17 years, from 1980 to 1997. As a player, together with his teammates Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Costacurta, he composed one of the best defensive lines in the history of football, allowing Milan to set the absolute record of consecutive matches without defeat (58) in the five main European championships (from 26 May 1991 to 14 March 1993). Tassotti's first success was the 1988 scudetto, followed by two European Cups, then three consecutive titles between 1992 and 1994 and the victory of the UEFA Champions League in 1994. After another scudetto won in 1996, he retired from his activity as a footballer at the age of 37, in 1997. In total Tassotti played 404 games in Serie A and 65 in Serie B, 428 games with the Milan shirt in the championship. In seventeen seasons overall with the Rossoneri shirt, Tassotti scored 10 goals: 8 in the league, one in the Italian Cup and one in the Champions Cup.
