Marilyn Monroe, pseudonym of Norma Jeane Mortenson Baker Monroe (Los Angeles, 1 June 1926 - Los Angeles, 4 August 1962), was an American actress, singer and model, among the most iconic actresses in the history of cinema. The films Asphalt Jungle and All About Eve, both from 1950, were his first successes with the public. In the following years, her performances in Niagara and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes were appreciated by critics and earned her a Henrietta Award at the 1954 Golden Globe Awards. Her definitive international recognition then came with the films How to Marry a Millionaire, The Seven Year Itch , Bus Stop and Some Like It Hot, for which she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy in 1960. Her singing successes include Cole Porter's My Heart Belongs to Daddy, Bye Bye Baby and Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and I Wanna Be Loved by You from Some Like It Hot.
