Marco Verratti (Pescara, 5 November 1992) is an Italian footballer, midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain. With the Italian national team he won the European championship in 2021. He linked his career to Paris Saint-Germain of which, with 30 trophies won, he is the most successful footballer. He holds the record for victories in Ligue 1 (9), Coupe de France (6), Coupe de la Ligue (6) and French Super Cup (9). In the latter competition he also holds the attendance record (9). He was the third player in the history of the Italian national team, after Raffaele Costantino and Massimo Maccarone, to have received his first call-up without having made his Serie A debut until then. He was subsequently joined in this group by Nicolò Zaniolo, Alex Meret, Vincenzo Grifo , Salvatore Esposito, Wilfried Gnonto, Federico Gatti, Alessio Zerbin and Mateo Retegui. Furthermore, together with Grifo and Gnonto, he is the only one of the lot who has not made his debut in Serie A.
