Marco Stefano Belinelli (San Giovanni in Persiceto, 25 March 1986) is an Italian basketball player, guard, professional in Serie A and in the NBA, currently playing for Virtus Bologna, of which he is captain. Considered among the best Italian players ever, he was selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, and is the first and only Italian to have won the NBA title (in the 2013-2014 season with the San Antonio Spurs ), as well as the NBA Three-point Shootout (won during the 2014 NBA All-Star Weekend). During his career he also won two Italian championships, one with Fortitudo Bologna and one with Virtus Bologna, an Italian Super Cup with Fortitudo, being named MVP of the latter, and two with Virtus as well as, again, an Italian Cup and a EuroCup again with Virtus Bologna. Finally, with 2,258 points scored in 154 games, he is the fourth best scorer in the history of the Italian national team.
