Laurie Metcalf (Carbondale, June 16, 1955) is an American actress, known for her role as Jackie Harris in the sitcomJelly and meat and for the role of Mary Cooper in the sitcomThe Big Bang Theory. The Big Bang Theory is one of the most famous and appreciated series in the history of television which lasted for 12 seasons and 279 episodes and which saw it win 10 Emmy Awards. Metcalf played Mary, Sheldon Cooper's mother, on The Big Bang Theory.
