Giuseppe Bergomi, known as Beppe (Settala, 22 December 1963), is an Italian footballer, a defender, world champion with the Italian national team in 1982. Considered one of the best defenders of his generation, during his professional career he has always played at Inter, the team of which he was captain from 1992 to 1999: with the Nerazzurri he won an Italian Cup (1981-1982), a Serie A championship (1988-1989), an Italian Super Cup (1989) and three UEFA Cups ( 1990-1991, 1993-1994 and 1997-1998). In the Italian national team, of which he was captain from 1988 to 1991, he made 81 appearances, taking part in four world championships (Spain 1982, Mexico 1986, Italy 1990 and France 1998) and one European championship (West Germany 1988). . The victory of the 1982 World Cup made him, at 18 years old, the youngest Italian footballer to have won the world championship, as well as the second youngest ever after Pelé.
