Edin Džeko (Sarajevo, 17 March 1986) is a Bosnian footballer, forward for Fenerbahçe and the Bosnian national team, of which he is captain. Considered one of the best strikers of his generation, as well as the best Bosnian footballer ever, after starting out in Bosnia and the Czech Republic, in 2007 he was purchased by Wolfsburg, with whom he won a German championship (2008-2009). After three and a half seasons he moved to Manchester City, with which he won two English championships (2011-2012 and 2013-2014), an FA Cup (2010-2011), a Super Cup (2012) and an English League Cup ( 2013-2014). In 2015 he moved to Roma, where he remained for six seasons and became the best foreign scorer in the club's history, as well as third overall. In 2021 he moved to Inter, with whom he won two Italian Super Cups (2021 and 2022) and two Italian Cups (2021-2022 and 2022-2023). With Bosnia and Herzegovina, with which he made his debut in 2007, he participated in one edition of the world championship (2014). Furthermore, he is the Bosnian selection's record holder for appearances and goals, having played 129 matches and scored 64 goals. Together with Cristiano Ronaldo, he is one of the two players to have been able to score at least 50 goals in three of the five main European championships - in his case German, English and Italian, with the shirts of Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Roma and Inter.
