La lunga battaglia per la chiusura dei manicomi, quella che l’Italia vinse combattendo coraggiosamente in prima linea, ha visto l’impegno di moltissimi fotografi da Raymond Depardon a Mauro Vallinotto, da Gian Butturini a Uliano Lucas, da Luciano D’Alessandro a Carla Cerati. Proprio con quest’ultima Gianni Berengo Gardin aveva firmato il fondamentale libro documentario “Morire di classe”.
