Come il fotografo francese diceva, se non si riesce a fare un buon ritratto usando i trentasei scatti di una pellicola 35 mm allora questo non arriverà mai. Invece a lui riusciva sempre di cogliere un gesto che sintetizzava l’intera opera di un pittore, lo sguardo che alludeva alla scrittura di un romanziere, un andamento nervoso che spiegava il carattere di uno scultore.
