This watercolor depicts Enrico Coleman himself, one of the founders of the XXV group of the Roman Campagna, intent on painting a farmhouse near Ponte Milvio. The historic Roman bridge, where the famous battle between Constantine and Maxentius took place, presumably owes its name to the censor Mulvius, but over the centuries the name was corrupted in various ways, from Milvius to Molbius and, later, Molle . The artist here chooses to represent a more hidden corner of a famous place, preferring an unusual and less obvious point of view.Condition report
