Original comic art made by Rosa for "The Terror Of The Transvaal", page 8 of the sixth chapter of the famous saga The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck published for the first time in Denmark in 1993 and later in Italy with the title "Il terrore del Transvaal" on Zio Paperone n. 75 in 1995. In 1886, in search of gold, Scrooge arrives in the Transvaal, a region of South Africa. Arriving near Kimberley, on the road to Johannesburg, the young Scrooge helps a Boer tied to the back of a buffalo who then explains to him that he got caught in the ropes while trying to capture him but keeping quiet that in reality the miners of Kimberley had tied him to the back of the beast and had thus sent him away because of his constant thefts. Offering himself as a guide, Scrooge and the Boer head towards Johannesburg. They camp in the savannah and at dawn Scrooge is alone and without his horse or food. Scrooge explodes in a fit of rage against the Boer who pushes him to tame a lion on which he rides into Johannesburg. Here he finds his wagon, retrieves his six-shooter from the trunk and enters the saloon armed to confront the Boer, who wanted to resell his tools, covering him in tar and feathers and then dragging him to jail. As he leaves, Scrooge reminds the Boer that he will not get far if he continues like this, but the Boer, whose name turns out to be Flintheart Glomgold, promises him that he will get far and become so big that he will eat fish as small as him. This is the page where the legendary "trunk of memories" appears for the first time, Scrooge's most precious treasure. On two panels. Signed.
