Complete story composed of 30 original comic arts made by Caprioli for "Edwyn dell'ultima Thule", published for the first time in Il Vittorioso n. 41 of 10 October 1959. A story set in 55 BC in the distant Northern Seas, which narrates the adventures of the young Dane Edwy fighting against the Frisian and British kings, which are intertwined with Julius Caesar's expedition to Britain. Caprioli returns to one of his favorite themes, history, both that concerning distant, unknown and not yet civilized peoples, and that of ancient Rome, about which he had already created other stories. Here Caprioli can show off all his mastery both in the extremely accurate reconstructions of Roman and Nordic ships, in the evocative scenes of combat at sea or in those of terrible shipwrecks and stormy seas, and on land, where the designer scrupulously illustrates sacred places, such as the prehistoric temple used for the druidic cult on the island of Sylt or customs and customs of the peoples of Britain. The fifteenth panel of the seventh episode of the story, then, is a real history lesson on the exploits of Julius Caesar in Gaul. Signed on many pages.
