Production drawing made by Topor for the animated film "The Wild Planet" directed by René Laloux in 1973, awarded the special prize at the 26th Cannes Film Festival. One of the greatest animation masterpieces of all time, a real work of art with strong contents and loads of poetry, "The Wild Planet" is the result of the collaboration between the French director Renè Laloux and the versatile artist Roland Topor who took care of all the graphic part of the film, creating a sort of cross between the Surrealism of Salvador Dalì and the esoteric and bizarre imagery of Hieronymus Bosch, all characterized by a rigid animation reminiscent of the cartoonish ravings made by Terry Gilliam for Monty Python.
