Information
pencil and ink on thin cardboard
35 x 15,5 cm
Original strip (16 A) made by Magnus for his eternal masterpiece "The valley of terror", published on Texone n. 9 on page 16 by Bonelli in 1996. In 1989 the Bolognese master decided to take refuge in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines in Castel del Rio to devote all of himself to the creation of a monumental work: his Tex. A very long and exhausting work for the author himself, which will push Magnus to a maniacal perfectionism leading him to redraw the same pages several times in search of a perfection impossible for anyone else to achieve. The plates of Magnus' Texone have never appeared on the market and until now simple preparatory studies have circulated, Magnus decided to apply a photocopy of this strip on the final plate as the nib used had changed color in some points of the drawing, making at the same time some changes, thus giving us the possibility of being able to keep a piece of world comic history. Slight reddish halos caused by the toning of the ink used by the author.
