Straight, tipped, single-and-false-edged blade, the first part flat with engraved trophies, floral motifs and "VIVA PIO IX", after with double groove. Brass hilt with wide, slightly engraved sword-shell, the main loop-guard decorated in relief and provided with three other loop-guards ending in a curl. The guard with typical, forked termination and pommel shaped as a lion's head. Brown horn grip (small missing parts) with metal wire binding. Without scabbard.
