Smoothbore, round, 17 mm cal. barrel, marked on the back with the mark "GR" surmounted by a crown and above the broad arrow marked with the mark of the Birmingham test bench. Flintlock with rampant lion effigy, crowned "2" mark and date "1808". Wooden stock with signs of use. Brass mounts, trigger guard with open-work. Brass-tipped wooden ramrod with iron base for the cartridge extractor. Probably for colonial use.
