Information

Charleville
length 146.5 cm
Smoothbore, round, 18 mm cal barrel with square base marked "FONDO 6560" (Garibaldian Fund Mark) and "D..10" (barely legible), provided with front sight and clutch for the bayonet; sighted tang. Lock marked "M.re R.le de Charleville"; full wooden stock with various, barely-legible stamps, iron mounts and ramrod. Research has shown that it is probably one of the 3000 specimens purchased from the Swiss firm Cellier & Müller, and then given by Garibaldi to the Provisional Government of Brescia for 90000 francs.
