Information

Austria
length 101 cm
officer's 1858 model, iron hilt with pierced basket, long cap and wooden grip with remains of covering. Straight, single-and-false-edged blade, more antique, made of damask, worked with five grooves on three quarters of its length, the one near the back continuing up to the weak, engraved and gilded with Pandur's head, sun, "HUSAR", stars, crescent and trophy on both sides. The sword was probably used by a cuirassier officer, combining a high quality blade to the 1858 model hilt. It was not until 1866 that the Austrian cuirassiers were converted into dragoons, so it can be deduced that the officer used it rom 1858 to 1866.
