length 101 cm
Wide, strong, curved, single-and short false-edged blade, with fuller for almost its entire length. At the tang the mark of the Royal Manufacture of Naples. Some pitting, one spike to the edge. Brass hilt with guard provided with three additional loop-guards, bearing remains of a mark and with another stamp not clearly legible. Short cap. Grip with earlier leather covering and brass wire binding. Without scabbard. Very rare. See a similar example of this interesting sabre described and photographed in "L'Esercito Borbonico dal 1830 al 1861" AA. VV. (Stato Maggiore dell'Esercito, Rome 1998), Volume II, pp. 348-349.
