Original illustration made by Pintér for his reinterpretation of the Shakespearean masterpiece "Macbeth", published by Nuages in 2001. Among the most complex and creative voices of 20th century graphics, Pintér has left a mark on a global level with his illustrations, his work is characterized by the Central European graphic-poster approach, his expressiveness is influenced by a very profound pictorial and artistic culture , with quotes and references that are sometimes explicit, sometimes underground and cross-referenced. From his hand, powerful and synthetic illustrations were born, stories in an image, which have now become part of the collective imagination. The Mondadori covers are famous (among the most famous are the series dedicated to Inspector Maigret). << Was Pintér a painter? He was, and what a painter! But not in the commonly adopted meaning, that of easel painter. He was well aware of being "only" a graphic painter, or more precisely a grafikus, an author of posters; he knew he was a craftsman whose only interest was in making a beautiful poster. In creating an illustration Pintér manages to condense the entire text into a graphic invention >>. (Santo Alligo) Signed.
