Specialist Notes
"The anonymity of these depictions stands out, Clouds in the mountains from 1919 (property of O. Morbelli), with an accurate chromatic synthesis and effective compositional rhythm" (MP Tominetti, Angelo Morbelli, Il Primo divisionismo nella sua opera e nelle lettere a Pellizza da Volpedo , 1971, p. 78). The almost certain location was given to us on the occasion of the 2001 retrospective in Turin, recognizing in the group in the close background the Lera, one of Morbelli's favorite mountains in his late canvases linked to his stays in Usseglio.
