Beautiful gift from a Duce's musketeer to Mussolini. A large pocket watch (diameter: 12 cm). White enamel dial signed "F.co Tornotti / Torino-Roma" and marked "8 Jours", with black-coloured Arabic numbers, blued hands, small seconds dial at six o'clock. On the back, a skull on bones and crossed bows with dedication on the edge "AL DUCE IN RICORDO DEL 22 AL 29 OTTOBRE 1917 / UN MOSCHETTIERE DEL DUCE". In its original red leather case, lined in burgundy velvet and silk and stamped "F. TORNOTTI TORINO-ROMA" in gold. The lid in silver foil with circular window showing the dial, and featuring the engraved “M” (for Mussolini) in a laurel wreath at the corners, eagle on fasces, laurel branches and coat of arms of Rome with inscription “SPQR”; on the sides inscription with the mottoes "NIENTE RITIRATA, NESSUN COMPROMESSO / FERMI E RISOLUTI! / AVANTI SEMPRE FINO ALLA RIVINCITA!"; dated “29 October 1927”.
