An officer's elegant non-regulation sabre, Early 19th Century

Wide, curved, French-style, single-and short false-edged blade, with fuller for almost its entire length and grooved next to the back, featuring much of the earlier blueing and some engravings at the forte: on the right side a Moor's head, a Turk's head and an anthropomorphic crescent, all placed between stars; on the left side the same heads are reproduced but with the sun, also anthropomorphic. All engravings and the blade base with remains of an earlier gilding. Austrian-type Bronze hilt with remains of gilding, with stirrup guard, smooth long cap and ring nut. The grip is completely covered with brass wire bindings. Well-fitting, wooden scabbard with leather cover (defects, small missing parts and signs of time) with gilded bronze mounts; chape with small iron knuckle-guard.
