length 104,7 cm.
Round, rifled, 22", 45-70 calibre centerfire barrel, provided with foresight, the base of the rear sight graduated up to 500 yards, foldaway rear sight numbered to “11”. Clean bore, visible rifling (not very deep), areas with slight pitting. Trapdoor bolt marked "MODEL 1873" surmounting an eagle's head on crossed arrows and with the inscription "US". Tang marked "338xx". Lock with plate marked "US SPRING... (partly no longer legible) 1873" and with engraved US eagle. Working mechanism. Walnut half stock, apparently with no visible stamps; a small repair at the back of the butt stock. With no open-works inside the butt plate. Iron mounts. Single barrel bracket, with loop (marked with non-readable inscriptions). Butt plate without gate, marked "US" on the back. Bar with sling swivel on the left side. Some pitting on the iron parts. Signs of use and time.
