Clean bore, visible rifling, light pitting and signs of use. Folding bolt, on the back with patent marks of 1861-1862, featuring serial number "10xxx". Forward spring lock marked and dated "JOSLYN FIRE ARMS C.o STONINGTON CONN. 1864". Working mechanism. Walnut, half stock with two military inspection stamps on the left side next to the counterplate, this one made of iron with sling swivel. Iron mounts, butt plate marked "US". Some pitting, remain of browning (old?) on the barrel.
