Rifled, round, 20’' barrel, with foresight, foldaway and adjustable rear sight, marked with 1887 and 1889 patents and calibre inscription “44W”. Clean bore, visible rifling, pitting inside especially at the nozzle. Frame marked "MARLIN SAFETY" and with sling swivel on the left side. Serial number "39xxx". Walnut butt and fore-end. Iron mounts. Possibly replaced screws on the butt plate. Fairly smooth outer metal surfaces. Working mechanism.
