Rifled, octagonal, 36 cal. barrel, with back marked "ADDRESS SAM.L COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" in one line. Clean bore, visible rifling. Six-shot cylinder featuring a quite visible naval battle scene, still legible the caption, mark "COLT'S PATENT" and serial number. Working mechanism. Frame with mark "COLT'S PATENT on the left side. Brass gripstraps. Trigger guard marked "36 CAL" Matching serial number "191xxx" on the barrel, barrel wedge (partial), cylinder (partial), frame and gripstraps. Smooth, walnut grip. Retains traces of probably earlier browning especially on the barrel (75%). Kept in an original but re-lined case, with a powder flask, bullet mold and capsule box.
