Information

Vienna
length 113,6 cm.
Rifled, octagonal, 15.5 mm cal. barrel made of fine damask, featuring a gold-inlaid frame at the breech, with the gold signature "CARL PIRKO IN WIEN" inside a cartouche with small gilt friezes featuring leaves at the margins; provided with fore-end fixed on a plate engraved with a net and with remains of bluing; the nozzle with foresight and a gilt frieze similar to the decoration at the base. The breech block engraved with floral motifs, with spark arrester for the piston and tang engraved with floral motifs but on a fine-grained background. Forward spring lock all bordered with an engraved frame and enriched with florals motifs en suite like the cock, whose firing pin is worked as a fish's head. Well-working mechanism. Half stock of walnut wood with checkered and appropriately countercurved grip to facilitate a right-handed shooter but with a dominant left eye, so that the butt-stock and front part of the weapon are parallel but not on axis. Checkered fore-end. Iron mounts engraved en suite. Trigger guard with perfectly working trigger and set trigger. Carved and pierced wooden tang. Small, brown horn knob screwed under the butt-stock. Iron counterplate engraved with florals motifs and a beautiful cornucopia. Under the barrel is a lower rib and a horn-tipped wooden ramrod. On the back of the grip a removable peep sight. With remains of earlier blueing inside the trigger guard
