Information

Spagna
length 113,6 cm.
Straight, double-edged blade, ribbed at the centre, with fuller at the forte, the forte marked with inscriptions (not clearly legible, "...STRO" on the right side and "...TOLEDO" on the left) ending in an engraved cross. The tang with fuller on both sides and featuring "T" marks in a shield and surmounted by a circle and a crowned "S". Marked also on the sides of the tang. Iron knuckle guard. Provided with quillon with straight and twisted quillons ending in buttons, a broad knuckle guard pierced with racemes and with a shield in the centre, borders facing outwards and worked like a floral garland. The guard with a counterplate inside also pierced with racemes. Grip with iron ring nuts at the ends, decorated with transversal fullers and covered with copper wire binding. Pommel decorated with fullers and buttoned. A curious variant of a left-hand because of the long blade. It's difficult to determine whether this is a used example or an assembly of old parts. However, it is certainly of notable interest and rarity.
