Tipped, straight, single-and-false-edged blade, with double fuller with remains of marking on the back ".... Imp.le de Chatellerault 8bre 18...3" (unfortunately the remains not legible due to pitting). Pitting mainly at the tip. Brass hilt with four loop-guards with remains of numbering and two marks, one not clearly legible, one "B". Leather grip (of a later time?) with copper wire binding. Iron scabbard with two lugs with mark "B". One of the most emblematic sabres of the Grande Armée.
