Octagonal, 7-1/2’, rifled, 36 cal. barrel, (visible rifling, pitting inside), with silver-coloured foresight, featuring a dorsal mark “ADDRESS SAM.L COLT NEW YORK CITY”, “K” mark on the left side. Cartridge rammer and barrel with matching numbers to the frame, matching four-digit barrel wedge. Six-shot cylinder with remains from the Texas-Mexico naval battle, still legible patent and serial numbers (also matching to the frame), visible "H" mark. Working mechanism. Frame marked "COLTS PATENT" and "U.S." Serial number "53xxx", cylinder pin with partial matching serial number. Brass grip straps with matching numbers. Round and small trigger guard, with marks "G" and (possibly) "V". Back marked "H". Some pitting but quite good condition. Wooden, smooth grip, with small missing part. The cartridge rammer was likely re-browned.
