Smoothbore, two-stage, 12 mm cal barrel, octagonal at the first part and with silver frames, then round after two rings, with remains of original gilding. Angled, smooth tang. External wheel lock covered and engraved with silver floral motifs on a browned background; plate with few remains of browning, the hammer engraved with floral motifs, the safety lever decorated with a silver flower. Full wooden stock similar to the one of the troopers' puffers, with beautiful bone inlays depicting mystical animals and floral motifs. Iron trigger guard. The base of the pommel featuring a silver ring-nut at the base engraved with floral motifs in bas-relief, and with Saxon coat-of-arms on rayed plate at the back. The counterplate with a silver medallion featuring the letter 'C' under an Elector's crown and and bordered with a cartouche at the bottom with the motto in Latin language 'FIDE SED CUI VIDE' ('Trust, but be careful whom [you trust]'). Complete with horn-tipped ramrod with iron base. A beautiful arm of very good quality.
