height 27 cm.
Heavy skull worked in one piece together with a brim featuring very sloping sides, provided with a high comb with twisted border, the edge of the brim hemmed and worked en suite with the comb. The lower part with iron row of rivets and brass rosettes (one missing). Plume-holder. Minor restorations. The surface is entirely engraved in Augsburg or Nuremberg style of the late 19th century, hardly distinguishable from earlier engravings. On the sides, a horseman on horseback preparing for the joust, framed by two angels with trumpets, all amidst floral motifs and on a granulated black background; the comb with two horsemen in the joust on a background decorated en suite. The brim with garlands and floral motifs.
