Ottoman Empire
length 85.5 cm.
Wide, curved, single-and-false-edged blade of fine wootz damask, some pitting on the edge, with gold inscriptions at the base and decorations on both sides, on the right side featuring a lion within a circle, on the opposite side a cartouche with inscriptions. Silver cross-hilt with remains of gilding and engraved elements, provided with two marks (probably of Mamluk origin). Horn grip scales (missing parts) with angled pommel, gilded metal band engraved with wave motifs.
