A very rare and early hand-and-a-half hunting sword, 1490 - 1500

length 128.8 cm.
Solid, long, slightly curved, single-edged blade with an asymmetrical tip, slightly widened at the base and with fuller over the entire length, on the left side mark similar to that of Hans Sumersperger (documented in Hall in Tyrol). Iron hilt provided with wide quillons, slightly curved towards the blade (old restoration), having a flat base and of increasing section towards the end decorated with a twisted ribbing; decorated with double lines at the bases and ends, like the centre of crossguard. Side ring carved as a baluster in the centre. Small counterguard with arm of the hilt. Beautiful pommel of decreasing section towards the base, with deep central groove on both sides, decorated with wave motifs on the sides; the border at the top decorated with double lines. Long grip covered with iron wire binding and Moor's heads.
